Course Overview: A grounded, appraiser-focused exploration of artificial intelligence in valuation. This course moves beyond hype to show how AI can streamline workflows, strengthen market analysis, and enhance research efficiency—while preserving ethical standards and professional judgment. Through hands-on examples, attendees learn to integrate modern AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, and custom GPTs into their appraisal process, from data collection to narrative reporting. The emphasis is on responsible use, bias mitigation, and practical implementation tailored to the realities of the appraisal profession.
Course Objectives:
• Distinguish practical, sustainable AI applications from speculative or exaggerated claims in valuation and assessment contexts.
• Implement secure, confidentiality-conscious AI workflows when handling appraisal data and client information.
• Employ leading-edge AI systems (such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini) for market research, document interpretation, and structured data extraction.
• Conduct layered market and trend analyses using advanced prompt engineering and iterative research techniques.
• Utilize intelligent agents to explore property data, regulatory information, and historical valuation records.
• Design dynamic visual tools—dashboards, calculators, and data visuals—that enhance clarity and reporting efficiency.
• Integrate and index personal datasets within AI platforms like NotebookLM to create a private, searchable resource for comps and reference materials.
N.B. This program was developed and is administered by the Appraisal Institute – DC Metro Chapter. Attendees are eligible to receive 2.0 hours of Appraisal Institute continuing education credit as well as 2.0 hours for NJ (PA reciprocal), MD, DC and VA.
