There are lots of ways you can get involved with AIDC and help us bring value your peers and your profession. The time commitment for each varies, but rarely exceeds a few hours per month and some roles can be taken on for however long and whenever convenient for you! Here are just a few areas for your consideration…
Admissions Team – Develop and execute recruitment and retention programs to help sustain and grow the chapter.

- Team Members – Welcome new members; develop and coordinate new member recruitment programs – 2x per year;
- Team Leader – Coordinates efforts of team members and shares goals and progress with AIDC board and management.
Candidate Guidance Team – Work with Candidates for Designation to help them advance their appraisal career and achieve designation.

- Team Members – Welcome new associates, share contacts and experience, and provide guidance on certification.
- Team Leader – Coordinates efforts of team members and shares goals and progress with AIDC board and management.
Education Team – Produce courses and seminars which best fill current education needs of membership.

- Team Members – Review available courses and member education needs; set dates; identify & confirm instructors; assist with on-site course management.
- Team Leader – Coordinates efforts of team members and shares goals and progress with AIDC board and management.
Event Team – Develop chapter programs which address area-specific appraisal issues and provide quality networking opportunities.

- Team Members – Identify unique/compelling topics/issues; set dates & locations; Identify & confirm speakers; Help develop promotional copy
- Team Leader – Coordinates efforts of team members and shares goals and progress with AIDC board and management.
Government Relations Team – Work with AI to review and, as necessary, respond to relevant legislative and regulatory initiatives in MD, DC and VA.

- Team Members – Review bills/regulations; Help draft response; Meet with area legislators/regulators.
- Team Leader – Coordinates efforts of team members and shares goals and progress with AIDC board and management.
News Team – Collects and/or writes informative articles which enhance our appraisal knowledge via our monthly newsletter and website.

- News Scouts – Keep an eye out for interesting articles worth sharing.
- Writers/Editors – Compose and/or edit articles on area appraisal issues.
- Team Leader – Develops editorial calendar; coordinates efforts of team members and shares goals and progress with AIDC board and management.
Experience Review Team – Review appraisals submitted by prospective designees to ensure each meets the high standards of our credentials.

- Team Members – Review appraisals submitted by prospective designees as requested and celebrate new SRA/MAI recipients.
- Team Leader – Coordinates efforts of team members and shares goals and progress with AIDC board and management.
Sponsorship Team – Identify and solicit chapter sponsors to help fund member programs and services.

- Team Members – Identify prospective sponsors; make preliminary contacts; review and update benefit packages.

Website Team – Update and help maintain content of the AIDC website to ensure availability of current, high quality appraisal information.

- Team Members – Regularly review AIDC and related sites; recommend content and/or design updates as needed.

Board of Directors – Plan and coordinate chapter programs, services and management firm to ensure AIDC brings the greatest possible value to our members and the profession.

- Directors – Participate in and/or lead program/project teams; review program/project, membership and financial reports; provide feedback and guidance to officers.
- Regional Representatives – Represent the chapter at AI regional meetings.
- Officers – Provide strategic direction to chapter; coordinate efforts of directors and teams; provide feedback and guidance to management firm.
